The F — the wall everyone hits

At some point the F (or another barre chord) comes along and at first sounds like nothing: muted, rattling, frustrating. It's the classic drop-out spot. Important to know — everyone stands at this wall, including those who play today. It's no sign of inability, but the point where most give up, just before it clicks. There are beginner voicings around it, and with a capo the song plays anyway. Both barre shapes that matter early — F and Bm — are in the tool "Get to know chords" as well; Bm is the gentler way in.
